Oktoberfest
What began as a wedding celebration for Bavaria’s Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony over 200 years ago in 1810, has now become an annual phenomenon and the world’s largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair).
This annual festival held in Munich, Bavaria, Germany is a celebration of Bavarian culture, from German folk groups and music, including Oompah Bands, to traditional clothing, such as lederhosen and dirndl dresses.
Of course, most more commonly associate Oktoberfest with 16 blissful days of beer-drinking!
